Thank you Jamison. Yes, not striving to be perfectly mindful one. An interesting paradox, and where much transformation can take place.

I am with you!

It's simply to say: No matter what I do this year, I will certainly fail. So I might as well fail well.
The long answer is for another blog post, but the idea is to NOT set goals. Rather, set intentions and be mindful of the progress.

Interesting to contemplate. I'm not sure if failing well means playing full out at whatever your doing and if it doesn't work it doesn't work big?

I resolve to set small goals that I can succeed at, like committing to exercise 5 times a week but that doesn't mean having to do it by going to the gym. Like today, exercise was walking the city for 4 hours. Check. Day 1 exercise. Done.

I know just what you mean. For me the hardest moment has been watching the insane new years celebrations in Europe and then turning to the news and listening to stories of the bombs in Nigeria. Back to reality, I thought. But also, what a juxtaposition. My life and its fireworks, and then their lives and their own fireworks. But their fireworks, or their bombs, are directly connected to my expectation of fireworks on new years. That is a hard reality.

Happy new year friend. Safe travels and a year full of laughter and good friends.

Hey Jamison!! Thanks for your recent comment on my blog. So sorry we didn't meet up this summer. I had no clue you were into to meditation. Perhaps our paths will cross at some point, here or abroad.

BTW, you have a rocking blog!

Thanks again and best of success in your practice.

Hey Jamison. Great post. During my years of traveling our globe for business I observed first hand that humans share so much in common. Language differences and all the other little things that on the surface make us appear so different are like a mask. Remove that"mask" and we are so much alike.
