Willful Reconnection

I appreciate and love that we, as a society, are talking about what we lack in a hyperconnected world. Especially from Leo Babauta of Zenhabits and Mark Sisson of Mark’s Daily Apple.

Mark Sisson concludes with a common refrain: Just stop using tech. Spend more time away from screens. Turn your phone off. Take a walk. Hug somebody.

Yes, and I’m an addict. Asking me to put down my phone is like asking an alcoholic to not drink. We can do it for a while, but it’s not sustainable. I will use again.

I appreciate that willful abstinence works for some but not for me. For me, the solution won’t be of my own making.
